Wind-Dry Solutions LLC, a manufacturer and supplier of moisture control systems, has launched its SaharaDry system for long-term protection of wind turbine gearboxes from oil contamination and harmful effects of moisture.
SaharaDry is a desiccant breather that uses a combination of silica gel and molecular sieve desiccants, with a system of controlled valves to regulate the intake and exhaust of air.
The system incorporates a two-stage oil mist coalescer to prevent contamination to the desiccant media. The system consists of a reusable top cap and mounting base, a disposable desiccant canister and the option to use a remote bladder bag.
