Willow Springs Wind Farm Hits Commercial Operations In Texas

Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE), a portfolio company of I Squared Capital and a developer of U.S. wind and solar projects, has reached commercial operations of its Willow Springs project, a 250 MW wind farm in Haskell County, Texas.

The wind farm, powered by 100 GE turbines, is expected to generate approximately 1,000 GWh of renewable energy per year.

“I am pleased to reach another important milestone with the safe, on-time and on-budget delivery of the Willow Springs project,” comments Declan Flanagan, CEO of LCE. “Following the success of this latest project, we are ahead of schedule in making $250 million in project equity investments, a target we announced last year on the closing of our partnership with I Squared Capital.”

Combined with the recently commissioned Amazon Wind Farm Texas, LCE has now brought 503 MW of wind energy online in 2017. These projects generate enough clean energy to power approximately 180,000 homes annually, says the developer.

LCE, which has offices in Chicago and Austin, Texas, has developed more than 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects in California, New Jersey and Texas since 2011.
