WhiteWave Foods Offsets Exposition

Broomfield, Colo.-based WhiteWave Foods Co. (WWFC), maker of Horizon Organic and Silk Soymilk, plans to offset the environmental impact of the Natural Products Expo East by purchasing wind energy certificates.

‘WhiteWave Foods has a long history of being green, but we always have room to improve,’ says Joseph Scalzo, president and CEO of WWFC. ‘To that end, we believe it's important to open a dialogue about the future of environmentally sustainable and socially responsible business practices.’

WWFC offsets 100% of the power used in the production of Silk and Horizon Organic products as well as all of the energy used at its corporate headquarters. The company says its wind energy purchases to date are the equivalent of eliminating 144,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
