IXYS Corp.'s wholly owned U.K. subsidiary, Westcode Semiconductors Ltd., has added two new package options to its Wespack thyristor range. The new devices offer the same power ratings for weight and volume but in an industry-standard 1-inch thick package.
The new product matrix includes four voltage classes from 600 V to 2.2 kV and average current rating from 1,449 A to 3,597 A. The new packages also maximize silicon content and, therefore, controllable power, while fitting within the envelope of industry-standard outlines, according to the company.
Applications for these devices include wind power converters, industrial drives and electrochemical power supplies.
