Gov. Chris Gregoire, D-Wash., and the Washington State Department of Commerce have announced the recipients of more than $16.5 million in grants and loans from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for energy efficiency, clean technology, transportation and bioenergy programs throughout the state.
Thirteen private and public projects were selected, including the Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound (CAMPS), an organization of traditional suppliers to the aerospace, marine, and transportation industries.
The funding will allow CAMPS to collaboratively retool and diversify to advance innovation in the wind and solar markets. This project will provide an estimated 212 jobs during the three-year life of the contract.
