London-based BVG Associates (BVGA) and Virginia-based Renewable Energy Resources International have announced a new partnership dedicated to advancing U.S. offshore wind.
Andy Geissbuehler, managing partner with Renewable Energy Resources International, has been selected to lead BVGA’s U.S. offshore wind business. Geissbuehler has held executive positions with global companies such as ABB, Alstom and GE. Most recently, he led GE’s U.S. offshore wind operations with the construction of Deepwater Wind’s Block Island Wind Farm, the first commercial offshore wind farm in the U.S.
With Geissbuehler on board, BVGA says it looks forward to helping the U.S. offshore wind market grow by combining European offshore wind market experience with U.S. offshore capabilities.
Andy, an American and Swiss citizen, speaks four languages, holds a master’s in engineering and industrial management from ETH Zurich and an MBA from the William & Mary Mason School of Business in Virginia. His background also includes serving as chairman of the board for several renewable energy special-purpose companies.
