Vestas has appointed Rogerio Zampronha as the new general manager of Vestas Brazil.

Zampronha, most recently the president of Schneider Electric Brazil, has more than 20 years of experience in the finance and energy industries. According to Vestas, he will focus on implementing the company's strategic road map, including Brazil, where the company will open a production facility in Ceara by the end of the year.

He will be based in Sao Paulo and will begin the new role on Sept. 2.

This year, Vestas has won contracts to supply turbines for 12 wind farm projects in Brazil with a total combined capacity of 286 MW, the successful execution of which will be among Zampronha's early priorities, the company notes.
