The U.K.'s total output from offshore wind farms in 2012 was 7.5 TWh, finds a new report from The Crown Estate.
Other highlights of the report include the following:
– Approximately 1,000 people are directly employed in operations and maintenance roles to keep the 20 existing completed wind farms running smoothly on sites around the U.K.
– Since 2004, U.K. offshore wind energy has seen an annual growth rate of 54% in generated electricity.
