Tractel, a provider of fall protection equipment, has introduced its second-generation Derope emergency evacuation/controlled descent device. According to the company, user feedback, experience and new technology have driven the design of this new generation of Derope devices.
With an increased descent speed and twin exit hubs designed into the casing, the Derope GEN-2 is more efficient and durable than past models, Tractel says. Additional new features include dual descent control pig tails, external cooling fins, an integrated rope locking cleat and completely sealed brake housing, which allows the Derope to pass the ridge wet and cold testing procedures of the Canadian Standards Association.
The Derope device can be ordered with optional features, such as a crank handle for raising and lowering, a ladder and a tripod bracket.
