Thies Clima, a German company that provides meteorology and environmental measuring technology, has introduced a new compact ultrasonic anemometer specifically developed to meet demands of modern wind turbine control systems with scalable and reliable heating for ice-free operation, and rugged construction with chassis made of anodized aluminum and carbon. It is seawater resistant (IP67), with a plug connector in the shaft.
According to the company, the product's design protects against vibrations, is over-voltage protected, has no moving parts and provides protection against falling ice. Flexibility is enhanced by common analog outputs with free scaling for optimal resolution. It accommodates a wide range of power supply options, from 8 V to 60 V DC and from 12 V to 42 V AC.
