Suzlon Group has announced its audited quarterly (Q4 FY17) and annual (FY17) results, showing an all-time-high commissioning for the company: In FY17, Suzlon installed 1,779 MW of wind capacity, taking its cumulative installations to over 11 GW in India and over 17 GW globally.
Tulsi Tanti, Suzlon’s chairman and managing director, says, “It gives me immense pleasure to announce that Suzlon delivered yet another profitable year. Our focus has been on restoring the confidence of every stakeholder, and today, the performance speaks for itself. We continue to work towards scaling greater heights.”
Suzlon’s total order book now stands at 1,562 MW, which includes 231 of solar. These orders will be commissioned in FY18, the company says.
For its new S111-120m machine, Suzlon says the turbine achieved an approximately 42% plant load factor in its first 12 months of operation. This reflects a 20% higher energy yield in comparison to the S97-120m.
Further, J.P. Chalasani, Suzlon Group CEO, notes that the company created approximately 1.8 GW of “blade manufacturing capacity in one single year.”
