Houston-based SUEZ Energy Resources NA, the U.S. retail energy business of SUEZ Energy North America, has agreed to provide Dallas with approximately 90% of the city's electricity for municipal needs through 2008. Nearly half of the city's supply from SUEZ will be sourced from renewable energy.
SUEZ Energy Resources, the successful bidder in the city's competitive proposal process, will provide electricity service to more than 1,900 accounts, estimating a peak demand of nearly 150 MW.

In related news, SUEZ Energy North America recently established a new division focused on renewable energy development following the completion of the acquisition of Canadian wind power development company Ventus Energy Inc. Ventus employees will lead wind generation development projects for SUEZ as part of the new division, called SUEZ Renewable Energy NA.
