The Southeastern Wind Coalition (SEWC) has welcomed to its board of directors Chris Vlahoplus, partner and cleantech/sustainability practice lead at management consulting firm ScottMadden.
ScottMadden is a member of SEWC, whose mission is to advance the wind industry in ways that result in net economic benefits to industry, utilities, ratepayers and citizens of the southeastern U.S.
Wind generation opportunities in the Southeast include land-based wind, low-cost wind import and offshore wind. In addition, there are more than 100 manufacturing facilities that provide components to the wind industry, according to SEWC.
As a board member, Vlahoplus will serve on the utility engagement committee. His tasks will include helping to plan utility advisory group (UAG) meetings, acting as liaison for utility-related questions and recruiting additional utility participation in UAG meetings.
‘The coalition sees the southeast utilities as essential players in moving the wind industry forward in the region, and we are pleased to have ScottMadden's utility expertise on our board as we strengthen our utility relationships,’ comments Katharine Kollins, president of SEWC.
