Kenosha, Wis.-based Snap-on Industrial has released a new keyless entry system that the company says makes it impossible for technicians to misplace toolbox keys. Snap-on says its system secures tools by using an electronic keypad or scanning an ID badge to gain entry into a toolbox.
The keyless tool kit achieves the same level of security as a lock and key system while eliminating the inconvenience that keys often produce. Because it is designed for boxes on the move, the system can be powered by six D-cell batteries or can be plugged into an AC outlet, the company says.
