Despite bad publicity stemming from recent litigation involving alleged intellectual-property theft, Sinovel has secured a $1 billion supply deal for a 600 MW wind farm in Turkey.
According to a report from Bloomberg, Sinovel will provide the turbine towers and generators to the massive wind project, which is being developed by Istanbul-based Agaoglu Group.
Sinovel is currently immersed in lawsuits filed by AMSC, which claims that Sinovel engaged and paid an Austria-based AMSC systems integrator to provide source-code data that would allow Sinovel to upgrade hundreds of turbines in order to meet more stringent Chinese grid requirements.
