SgurrEnergy’s Galion LIDAR Wind Scanning Device Receives New Certification

SgurrEnergy says it has received an independent validation of its Galion LIDAR wind scanning device from Deutsche WindGuard.

Deutsche WindGuard's LIDAR performance verification project included the comparison of wind speed and direction data obtained from SgurrEnergy's Galion LIDAR to measurements taken from a conventional met mast, equipped with calibrated instruments, at its test site near Rysum in Germany.

The results revealed that the ‘horizontal wind-speed component, as measured by the Galion and by cup anemometers, show an excellent correlation," SgurrEnergy says.

The results from Deutsche WindGuard's study reinforce previous independent testing carried out by Riso DTU in Denmark and SgurrEnergy's own certification of the Galion LIDAR device.
