In an effort to scale up its research and development (R&D) capabilities this fall, turbine maker Senvion is opening a new R&D center in Bangalore, India.
According to Senvion, the team in India will strengthen the company's global technology center in Osterronfeld, Germany. Senvion will increase the staff in the R&D headquarters in Germany and establish the new center in India.
‘We have been preparing this step for months now and are happy to ramp up our tech expertise to complement the engineering excellence in Germany,’ says Andreas Nauen, CEO at Senvion. ‘The German technology of Senvion, located primarily in Osterronfeld, will further improve, thanks to the recruitment of many excellent engineers.’
Senvion notes that its technology center was established in 2010 as a follow-up institution of the founder company pro + pro Energiesysteme GmbH & Co. KG based in Osterronfeld. It comprises the experience of over 25 years of onshore and offshore engineering.
Senvion serves 26 markets – each with specific wind conditions, climates and grid requirements. Therefore, the company notes, the expansion of the product development division is a necessary step when preparing to enter new markets and offering the highest quality of wind turbines with the best efficiency possible for every location.
