Second Wind Offers Anemometers Calibrated To Measnet Standards

0

Somerville, Mass.-based Second Wind's C3 anemometers are now calibrated at the Svend Ole Hansen ApS wind tunnel in Denmark, making Second Wind the only company to stock anemometers calibrated by a Measuring Network of Wind Energy Institutes (Measnet)-certified facility, according to a press release.

Measnet is an international cooperative that serves the wind energy industry by working to ensure high-quality measurements, uniform interpretation of standards and interchangeable results, and member facilities must provide calibration reports, take part in round-robin exercises in which calibration results are compared to Measnet standards, and undergo third-party inspections. The Svend Ole Hansen wind tunnel is one of seven facilities worldwide that are approved to calibrate to Measnet standards.

‘For critical assessment applications, such as power projections, our customers need to be confident of exceptionally accurate wind data,’ says Walter Sass, CEO of Second Wind. "With this Measnet calibration option, we're making it easier for customers to benefit from the international standard of precision in wind measurement."
