Vattenfall has selected SeaRoc's SeaPlanner, a Web-based, marine monitoring and management system, as its marine coordination and management tool for the 49.5 MW Kentish Flats Extension offshore wind farm.
SeaRoc says the management tool provides the construction team access to key metrics, such as personnel and vessel tracking, certification management, and document management. Vattenfall is also using the system's module that ensures personnel are suitably certified prior to arrival on-site.
‘The SeaPlanner software will limit the amount of vessel downtime by ensuring personnel are ready to go the moment they arrive onsite,’ says Toby Rayner, marine coordinator at Kentish Flats Extension. ‘It was important to us that inductions could be carried out on a PC or mobile device making it accessible to all, especially when working within the offshore sector where desk-based PC access is limited.’
