Seattle-based MicroPlanet, a clean technology that facilitates the integration of renewable energy sources, has named Alan H. Richardson as a company director, subject to approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Richardson recently concluded a career with the American Public Power Association (APPA), where he served the last 12 years as president and CEO. He is a published author and has addressed national and international audiences on electric utility issues and industry market structure.
Richardson has a degree in philosophy from Bucknell University and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Michigan School of Law.
In order to facilitate Richardson's appointment, MicroPlanet has accepted the resignation of David Freeman from the board of directors.
