REpower Systems AG plans to introduce its 3.2 MW turbine with a hub height of 143 meters at the upcoming EWEA 2011 conference, which will be held in Brussels, Belgium, from March 14 to 17. With its 114-meter rotor diameter, the REpower 3.2M114 can utilize the potential of low-wind locations, according to the company.
The hybrid tower made of concrete and steel used for the 3.2M114 is erected in segments. With high hub heights, this process is more economical than with a traditional steel tower, according to the company.
