REpower Participates In Hydro Quebec Call For Tender

0

As a member of a consortium that includes EDF Energies Nouvelles, Renewable Energy Systems Canada and Hydromega Services, Germany-based turbine manufacturer REpower has submitted to Hydro Quebec a bid totaling over 1,000 MW of wind energy capacity. All of the energy would be provided by REpower's 2 MW turbines (MM82 and MM92), the company says.

According to REpower, its equipment is available in a cold-climate version and is thus suitable for successful operation in Quebec. The turbines are compatible with the North American power grid as well.

The production and installation period for Hydro Quebec's chosen projects is expected to occur between 2011 and 2015.
