Turbine manufacturer REpower Systems says it is launching a system to harmonize wind farm management systems.
According to the company, the various systems in a wind farm can be replaced by a standardized, international interface. REpower says its product will work with turbines from other manufacturers and can be controlled with a single interface.
The product, REguard Interface B IEC 61400-25, includes hardware and software for controlling the wind turbines, communicating with the wind farm and retrieving operating data.
The product is integrated into the control systems of the wind farm units. REpower developed the system in conjunction with owner/operator E.ON Climate & Renewables.
