The Board of PJM Interconnection, the grid operator for 13 states and the District of Columbia, has promoted William H. Whitehead to the post of vice president for state government policy.
‘Bill's extensive knowledge of grid operations and planning together with his understanding of regulatory concerns has been a real asset in enhancing communications between state regulators and PJM on our mutual interests in reliability and wholesale market efficiency,’ says PJM CEO Terry Boston. ‘His promotion reflects not only his own abilities and successes but PJM's emphasis on working with state government officials.’
A veteran of the electric utility industry, Whitehead has extensive experience in engineering, planning and operations. He joined PJM in 2001 from PPL Electric Utilities, where he was manager of transmission and distribution operations.
He received a degree in electrical engineering from Bucknell University.
