Energy investor T. Boone Pickens has cut his GE wind turbine order in half, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Pickens, who planned a massive wind farm in Texas and made a big push for wind development nationwide, says he is now purchasing 300 turbines from GE. The turbines will be used for projects in Minnesota and Canada, not Texas, according to Pickens.
In May 2008, Pickens announced that his company, Mesa Power LP, would order 687 wind turbines, or 1,000 MW, from GE for about $2 billion.
