Peter Mastic, who joined National Wind as president and chief development officer last September, has been named CEO of the company. He now has overall responsibility for strategic planning, operations management, wind farm development, project finance and support staff.
Mastic replaces Leon Steinberg, who has been CEO since 2007. Steinberg will stay on at National Wind as executive vice president for a transition period before pursuing other interests. He remains an investor in the company and will continue to serve on its board of directors.
Mastic was previously founder and CEO of Third Planet Windpower LLC and, before that, co-founder and managing director of Noble Environmental Power LLC. In his 25 years in the energy industry, Mastic has initiated and managed the development, construction financing or commissioning of more than 20 projects comprising more than 5 GW across the U.S.
