The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is hosting a free telephone seminar designed to help potential large-scale wind energy project developers looking to participate in the state's ‘Green Energy Works! Wind’ grant program.
The telephone seminar will take place on Dec. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. DEP staff will answer questions relating to the wind grant program, which is open to Pennsylvania projects that combine grant funding with private investments for wind energy systems with a capacity of at least 3 MW. Grant recipients are required to use Pennsylvania goods and services to the greatest extent possible.
‘Pennsylvania's wind industry is one of the fastest growing in the country,’ says DEP Secretary John Hanger. ‘With nearly $20 million available, this grant program has the potential to develop wind projects that will put Pennsylvanians to work and build facilities that will help power our future with clean, renewable energy.’
All proposals for the program must be for a minimum of $250,000 and may not exceed $19.8 million. The deadline for submission is Dec. 31.
