Onsemble, an independent provider of real-time hub-height wind data, has unveiled its new West Texas Wind Index (WTWI), which provides an estimate of the total power output of more than 90% of the wind farms in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region.
Onsemble's WTWI can be a resource for energy and commodity traders, market participants, forecasters, system operators, utilities and wind farm investors, according to the company.
The WTWI, which is available to subscribers, can bundle together real-time hub-height wind power information because the firm has a private 17-tower network of meteorological sensors sited near ERCOT wind farms and is updated every 10 minutes, according to the company.
