NRG Systems Offering New Power-Supply Option For Its LIDAR Remote Sensor

0

NRG Systems says it is offering a new power-supply option for its WINDCUBE LIDAR remote sensor for off-grid applications.

The RP20TM solid oxide fuel cell features a proprietary tubular ceramic fuel-cell core that the company says ensures clean operation with no emissions of sulfur oxides and low emissions of carbon dioxide.

According to Evan Osler, business development lead for LIDAR at NRG Systems, the RP20TM offers up to five months of autonomy with commonly available propane fuel and gives wind farm developers more confidence to deploy their WINDCUBE LIDAR systems in more remote, difficult-to-access regions.

The RP20TM is manufactured by Acumentrics, weighs 300 pounds and operates in temperatures ranging from -30 degrees C to 50 degrees C.
