NRG Systems, a Vermont-based designer and manufacturer of smart technologies for clean energy, has announced the hire of Barry Logue as the company’s LiDAR wind energy solutions manager.

Logue, a veteran in the remote sensing space, will be responsible for all sales and account management for NRG’s LiDAR products and services in North America. NRG has offered LiDAR technology since 2009, thanks to a partnership with Leosphere. The global joint venture aims to expand the use of remote sensing in the wind industry and in meteorology. The systems are designed for wind resource assessment, wind turbine optimization and various weather enterprise applications.

Logue previously served as the global applications manager for Vaisala, as well as the director of sales at Second Wind, where he helped establish new applications for remote sensing in wind resource assessment and operational data reporting. As a member of both U.S. and international standards committees, Logue has played a pivotal role in the release of new best practice and formal standards for remote sensing devices in wind energy applications, says NRG.

“We are excited to have Barry join us at NRG Systems,” says Gregory Erdmann, vice president of global sales at NRG Systems. “His experience in the industry – especially in regard to remote sensing – is valuable for our customers, as his technical knowledge is deep and spans several technologies and product lines.”
