Northern Power Systems (NPS), a developer of permanent-magnet direct-drive wind turbines, has announced that Troy Patton has been elected as the company's president and CEO.
Since joining NPS in April 2009, Patton has served as president of NPS' Utility Wind and Distributed Wind businesses. He has over 20 years of experience in the power generation industry.
Prior to his time at NPS, Troy was senior vice president of engineering and products for Vestas Wind Systems, and before that, he served in numerous technical and leadership roles for GE's gas turbine and wind turbine businesses.
