The Nordex Group is expanding its range of towers for the N175/6.X turbine with a hybrid tower that has what the company calls the highest hub height to date, at 200 meters.
It adds that due to its hub height, the turbine’s rotor, with a 175-meter diameter, moves in wind currents with higher speeds and less turbulence.
The tower is based on the design of the company’s hybrid tower developed in-house, which was tested last year with two prototypes and a complete wind farm in Finland.
The company offers the turbine on tubular steel towers with hub heights of 112 meters, 142 meters and 162 meters as well as on hybrid towers with a hub height of 179 meters and in the expected 200 meters.
