Australia-based research and development company Nauti-craft says that its marine suspension technology, which can potentially cut offshore wind costs and improve safety, has won a U.K.-based competition aimed to strengthen the sector's economics.
The company says its ship design could significantly improve the economics of offshore wind and keep wind technicians safe when they are far out to sea.
Nauti-craft's technology was one of 13 concepts selected from a field of over 450 international entrants in the Offshore Wind Accelerator competition sponsored by Carbon Trust, a London-based nonprofit firm.
