NaturEner, a renewable energy company that designs, develops and operates utility-scale renewable energy projects in North America and Europe, says it has hired two North American team members: Gabriel Vaca will become director of asset management for the U.S. and Canada, and Joe Paul will take on the role of director of regulatory affairs.
Vaca will report to NaturEner's CEO, Jose Maria Sanchez-Seara. He brings to the company over 18 years of business experience, with an emphasis on operations, finance and management. Vaca has held several leadership positions within the wind energy industry, such as third-party service and maintenance, wind farm optimization, asset management and global operations and maintenance mobilization.
Paul will report to Nancy Murray, vice president and general counsel. He has held various legal and commercial positions in energy regulatory compliance and energy trading. He formerly led the energy regulatory group for Dynegy and was the company's principal regulatory attorney in the Western region. He has also been involved in the development of energy trading products, and was formerly an energy adviser to Ohio's attorney general and served as general counsel for a small natural-gas distribution company.
