Natural Power, a company that produces wind farm monitoring and management tools, has introduced ForeSite, a wind power output forecasting service. ForeSite leverages the local weather forecasts of meteoblue, an independent meteorological forecaster.
ForeSite provides operators with hourly forecasts of wind potential and energy generation up to six days ahead, according to the company. Operators can access and process the forecasts on a daily or hourly basis.
ForeSite combines local forecasts with downscaling and inclusion of computational fluid dynamics. Natural Power deploys VENTOS on ForeSite projects to provide improved downscaling based on topography and roughness to reduce learning time and further refine accuracy, according to the company.
