San Jose, Calif.-based Mountz Inc. has introduced a torque wrench that is designed to prevent a fastener from being over-torqued.
According to Mountz, the TSN torque wrench is designed so that when the tool reaches its pre-set torque value, the mechanism disengages from the drive, limiting the torque applied.
Controlling torque is quintessential for companies to ensure a product's quality, safety and reliability is not compromised. Fasteners that are insufficiently torqued can vibrate and loosen and excessive torquing can strip threaded fasteners. A fastener that is not properly tightened can lead to failures.
