Star Distributed Energy has obtained a 20-year power purchase agreement with Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) for a 19.5 MW wind project located in Sibley County, Minn.
Star, which has developed more than 1.4 GW of wind energy through its WESCO Wind development subsidiary, obtained the project from Sibley Wind Substation.
According to Star, the project has all of the necessary lease, easement and electric interconnection agreements and state and local permits to construct, operate and maintain the project. Construction is expected to begin in September.
The MMPA supplies 11 Minnesota member communities with competitively priced sustainable energy. The MMPA is owned by its member cities and governed by aboard of directors with representatives from each community. To learn more about the MMPA, click here. (http://www.mmpa.org/About-MMPA.aspx)
