Mainstream Renewable Power has announced it is launching a new business venture called Mainstream Capital in a bid to gain access to capital at better rates.
The global independent renewables company says its new platform is targeted specifically at pension funds and insurance companies that want to invest directly into Mainstream's wind and solar projects.
Acknowledging that access to capital at the pre-construction phase can be tough, CEO Eddie O'Connor says Mainstream can now secure longer-term, more reliable funding by developing its own capital raising arm. He claims the move will make a huge difference to the cost of raising finance.
