Magnetek Begins Shipping E-Force Wind Power Inverters

0

Magnetek Inc., based in Menomonee Falls, Wis., has shipped the first production units of its new multi-MW E-Force wind power inverter to a U.S. wind turbine builder under a 60-unit order scheduled for delivery through March 2008. Initial units are expected to be installed on domestic wind farms, the company adds.

Magnetek's modular E-Force wind power inverters transform the fluctuating power that normally flows from wind turbine generators into the steady flow of clean 60-cycle AC power required to interface with the utility power transmission grid, according to the company. The new E-Force inverters feature proprietary cooling technology and are well-suited for wind turbines ranging from 625 kW to 5 MW.
