Lufft, a developer and manufacturer of instruments for industrial climate measurement, has released the new WS series of compact weather stations. The WS200-WS600 and VENTUS models are designed with different levels of functionality to meet companies' specific weather-monitoring needs, according to the company.
WS600-UMB (universal measurement bus) incorporates sensors for temperature, humidity, precipitation, air pressure, wind direction and wind speed. The VENTUS model can be used for wind turbine applications, as it now includes a 200 W heater for use in cold weather climates.
All UMB sensors can be polled by means of a standard protocol. Once data polling has been incorporated for one sensor, additional sensors can be added by way of parameterization of the data polling system, according to Lufft.
Channel-oriented sensor data-polling delivers a large number of computed variables in metric and U.S. format. Sensors can be configured, equipment tested and firmware updated with the free configuration software.
