Zephir – the makers of the ZephIR LIDAR measurement system – says it has successfully captured simultaneous upwind and downwind measurements from a wind turbine delivered by ZephIR Dual Mode to DTU Wind Energy (formerly Riso).
The measurements were taken using two ZephIR Dual Mode systems deployed at the front and back of a test turbine at the client site as part of the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation program focusing on turbine integrated wind LIDAR experiments.
Results from the project will be published shortly, but an initial set of LIDAR readings against mast comparisons are encouraging, notes Zephir.
