Hinesburg, Vt.-based NRG Systems Inc., a manufacturer of wind measurement equipment, has promoted Larry Jacobs to marketing manager.
Jacobs has served in technical sales and marketing roles at NRG Systems for seven years, first as international sales account manager and then as senior marketing engineer. In these roles, he developed markets for NRG Systems' technical products, including the hybrid sensor for wind turbine controls and the WINDCUBE lidar remote sensor. In his new position, he will oversee marketing planning and operations, and serve on NRG Systems' department managers' team.
‘We're thrilled that Larry has accepted our offer to serve as marketing manager,’ said Barton Merle-Smith, NRG Systems' director of marketing and sales. ‘He brings a deep knowledge of the wind industry and our technical systems, which enables him to serve as a critical link between product development and marketing.’
Jacobs comes to NRG Systems from IBM, where he served as product marketing manager. He serves on the board of directors for the Canadian Wind Energy Association and as visiting faculty at the University of Wisconsin in the department of engineering professional development. In addition, he chairs international conferences on wind resource assessment.
