National City, Calif.-based Knight & Carver Wind Group, which provides blade repair, service and new-blade fabrication to the wind energy industry, has hired Matthew Key as the company's vice president of safety.
Key joins Knight & Carver on a full-time basis after serving the company for the past three months as a consultant on executive loan from Lockton Insurance. He has more than 30 years of safety experience and holds numerous industry certifications in the field. In addition, he is a frequent contributor to safety publications and has produced numerous industrial safety training videos.
Key has memberships with the Associated General Contractors, the Associated Society of Safety Engineers, the Black Contractors Association, the Construction Safety Council, the National Safety Council and the Pacific Safety Council.
In recent weeks, under the leadership of Key, Knight & Carver has trained and re-trained nearly 100 new field technicians as part of its workforce expansion for current and upcoming blade repair and service projects.
