Kluber Lubrication, a manufacturer of specialty lubricants, has introduced Klubersynth MR 96-31, which the company describes as a dynamically light grease that utilizes a polyalkylene glycol base oil and a unique mix of solid substances.
According to the company, the lubricant reduces vibration, dampens noise and enables smooth motion of many different plastic materials. It is also compatible with elastomers and plastics for a temperature range of -40 degrees C to 120 degrees C.
Klubersynth MR 96-31 was specifically developed to reduce friction in material pairs involving critical, non-polar polymers such as PP or PE, and elastomers such as EPDM, the company explains. The lubricant is also compatible with POM (homo- and copolymers), PBT or PA 6.6. The grease is water-resistant and helps protect against copper corrosion, Kluber adds.
Klubersynth MR 96-31 can also be used in slideways and casings made of non-polar and amorphous polymers with a low degree of crystallization.
