Juhl Wind Appoints General Wesley Clark To Its Board

Retired U.S. Army General Wesley Clark has joined the board of directors for Woodstock, Minn.-based Juhl Wind, a community wind project developer.

‘I believe that green energy is not only important to our environment, but it is a matter of national security as we work to reduce our dependence on foreign oil,’ says Clark. ‘Community wind development takes both goals to the next level by keeping the ownership of our wind farms in the hands of the people of America and, specifically, the farmers we work with on these projects.’

Clark graduated from West Point first in his class. In 1966, he was awarded a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford University, where he earned a master's degree in politics, philosophy and economics. During 34 years of service in the U.S. Army, Clark rose to the rank of four-star general as NATO's Supreme Allied Commander, Europe. After his retirement in 2000, he became an investment banker, author, commentator and businessman.
