Is wind turbine manufacturer LM Wind Power available for sale? LM Wind Power's owner Doughty Hanson is considering it, according to a Danish publication.
According to Berlingske Business, Doughty Hanson is considering an exit strategy and may wish to unload the company he acquired in 2001. The paper went so far as to name Newton, Iowa-based blade manufacturer TPI Composites as a possible suitor.Â
Christopher Springham, LM's vice president of communications, says that though the company never comments on ‘market speculation,’ he did offer the following:
‘After 14 years owning LM Wind power, it is not surprising that Doughty Hanson will be considering an exit in the coming years,’ he explains. ‘However, they have proved that they have always been interested in building a sustainable, profitable business for the long term. There have not been any formal decisions taken, and when this happens, it will be subject to further announcement."
