NaiKun Wind Energy Group Inc. has announced the election of Canadian entrepreneur Joe S. Houssian and First Nations expert Fereydoun Dabiri to its board of directors.

NaiKun Wind Development is proposing one of the world's largest offshore wind farms, a five-phase, 1,750 MW renewable energy project. Currently, the first phase, at 320 MW, is under development for submission in BC Hydro's 2008 Clean Energy Call.

Houssian founded Intrawest Corp., a global developer and operator of luxury mountain, golf and beach resorts. Intrawest's operations and ancillary businesses include Abercrombie & Kent, which operates in 100 countries.

‘The NaiKun offshore wind project has enormous, long-term potential,’ says Houssian. ‘The management team has already accomplished a great deal, including aligning with industry leaders, experts and First Nations. I am eager to work with their team to develop Canada's first offshore wind project.’

Dabiri is president and CEO of David Nairne & Associates of North Vancouver British Columbia. For the last 15 years, he has led and coordinated the company's team of architects, engineers, economic development strategists and project planners on commercial, residential and community developments. He has worked with over 125 First Nations across Canada on various projects.

Dabiri has served as a director of NaiKun Wind Development, a wholly owned subsidiary of NaiKun Wind Energy Group. His expertise has been integral to the project's progress and his role in development will continue, according to the company.

NaiKun Wind Energy Group's board member Larry Blonde will step down from his appointment.
