Horizon Wind Energy has placed an order for 242 units of the V82-1.65 MW wind turbine with Vestas Americas A/S. The wind turbines are expected to have a total installed capacity of 400 MW.
Horizon Wind Energy, headquartered in Houston, is a subsidiary of Energias de Portugal, S.A., a Portuguese utility.
Vestas will supply and commission the turbines, and the order also comprises a five-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery is expected to begin at the end of 2008 and will continue through 2009.
