Renato Bertani has been named director of Grapevine, Texas-headquartered GreenHunter Energy Inc. Until December 2006, Bertani served as president of Petrobras America Inc., where he was responsible for an investment plan and the construction of a portfolio of exploration and production assets, as well as the company's acquisition and planned expansion of a refinery in Pasadena, Texas. Bertani dedicated more than 30 years of his professional and managerial services to Petrobras, having occupied several senior-level management positions.
Bertani is vice president of the World Petroleum Council – responsible for the technical program at the 2008 World Petroleum Congress in Madrid – and president of the Brazil Texas Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the advisory board of the Center for International Studies at St. Thomas University.
Currently, Bertani is the president and CEO of Thompson & Knight Global Energy Services LLC, a subsidiary of international law firm Thompson & Knight.
