WindMade says Motorola Mobility, Deutsche Bank, Bloomberg and Method have procured, or have pledged to procure, at least 25% of their operations' power consumption from wind energy.
WindMade, an initiative to develop a consumer label for companies and products using wind power, allows participating companies to communicate that a ‘share’ of wind power and other renewable sources has been used as part of their operations.
A wind energy share can be procured through a company-owned wind power generation facility, a long-term power purchase agreement for wind power, or the purchase of renewable energy certificates approved by WindMade.
Pioneered by Vestas, the WindMade initiative was founded as a cooperation between the Global Wind Energy Council, World Wildlife Fund, LEGO, the United Nations Global Compact, PwC and Bloomberg.
